An ISTA festival is an immersive, ensemble-based theatre experience where young people from across the world come together to collaborate, create, and perform in a powerful international setting. Rooted in story-driven inquiry and guided by professional artists, it fosters artistic expression, cultural exchange, and personal growth.
This year’s symposium invites students to explore one of the most urgent provocations of our time: in an era of artificial intelligence, what does it mean to be human, and why do our uniquely human capacities matter more than ever?
Through theatre and ensemble, students will investigate the power of imagination, empathy, creativity, and collaboration, not only as defining traits in the age of AI, but as essential tools for navigating complex global challenges like the climate crisis.
Looking at our capacity to think creatively, build and implement innovative solutions, participants will examine how intercultural understanding, dialectical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving are key to building a more sustainable, connected, and compassionate future.
This is not just a festival, it’s a celebration of the human spirit in a rapidly changing world.
