The ISTA Young Creative Leadership Programme (IYCLP) gives high school students (16+) a unique chance to grow as creative leaders. Through mentorship, reflection, and real-world practice, students step into leadership roles at ISTA festivals and within their own communities.



This hands-on programme is also recognised as a valuable service learning opportunity and complements existing school leadership initiatives.

Your Journey with an ISTA Mentor

Begin your journey with a guided self-reflection and short proposal outlining how you plan to grow as a creative leader.

Meet your ISTA Artist Mentor to set goals, explore leadership strategies, and prepare for your festival experience.

Shadow your mentor at an ISTA Middle School festival, support the ensemble, and take on active leadership responsibilities with daily reflection.

Two weeks after the festival, complete your final reflection and celebrate your achievement as you receive the ISTA Young Creative Leader Certificate.
