Inside TAPS: A Snapshot

Staging Play Texts
TAPS students explore dynamic staging techniques with renowned director Ned Bennett, co-creator of The LeftBehinds. Using Viewpoints and physical expression, they experiment with bold staging and collaborative decision-making
Exploring World Theatre Traditions
TAPS students dive into the world of Commedia dell'Arte with Cheryl Stapleton, a renowned theatre artist and physical theatre specialist. Exploring masks, physical storytelling and embodying iconic characters, students experiment with movement, voice and improvisation.
Collaboratively Creating Original Theatre
TAPS students explore collaborative storytelling through movement in an energetic workshop led by acclaimed director and movement specialist Marc. Drawing from his dynamic devising process, participants engage in physical exercises that spark creativity, build ensemble cohesion, and enhance non-verbal communication. Through playful experimentation and reflection, they learn to generate ideas, co-create meaning, and refine performance through constructive feedback—discovering how movement itself can become a powerful storytelling language.
Responding to Live Theatre
TAPS students attend Stranger Things: The First Shadow in London's West End as part of their learning. The experience sparks rich discussion on theatrical storytelling, technical innovation, and audience engagement.
