Saju Hari

Saju Hari is an Indian-born, UK-based choreographer and performer. His starting point in movement was the South Indian martial art Kalarippayattu, and he continues to draw on its physical discipline within a contemporary choreographic practice. Describing himself as someone who "thinks with the body", Saju creates work that explores movement as a form of enquiry, shaped by migration, lived experience and the spaces between cultures. His choreography investigates the body as a site of memory, instinct and imagination.

Since moving to London in 2003, he has collaborated internationally with artists and companies including Akram Khan Company, Sasha Waltz & Guests, Michael Keegan-Dolan, Shobana Jeyasingh Dance and Gecko. Alongside performing, he creates choreographic works for stage, site-specific contexts and film, continuing to explore politics, identity and human behaviour through embodied research.
