About the role
St. Julian's School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Drama & Theatre Teacher to join their dynamic Performance, Art & Design Faculty from August 2026. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and delivering an engaging Theatre, Drama and Creative Arts curriculum in the Secondary School, fostering a love of performance and dramatic arts in students.
Students follow a bespoke KS3 programme with a wide range of subjects, including Drama and Creative Arts. CIE Drama GCSE is a popular choice, and there is always a Theatre class in the IB Diploma. Students are ambitious and achieve excellent results in examinations.
The successful candidate will contribute to the broad extracurricular programme and take an active role as a tutor or support tutor within the school's strong pastoral system.
Person specification
Essential:
- Educated to degree level in Theatre, Drama or a relevant subject
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Experience in excellent teaching of Theatre and Drama across the age range
- Proven record of an adaptable, collaborative, innovative and compassionate approach to teaching and learning
- Ability to inspire students to engage with the performing arts
- Commitment to the broader life of the school
Desirable:
- Experience teaching GCSE Drama/Theatre
- Experience teaching IB Diploma Theatre
